Adding Amazon Logistics as a Carrier in Extensiv for Use in the iDrive TMS
This guide explains how to properly configure Amazon Logistics (AMZL) inside both the iDrive ecosystem and Extensiv so users can rate shop and generate Amazon labels through the iDrive TMS. It outlines required setup steps in ShipCaddie Management Center (SMC), the TMS Admin Portal, and Extensiv WMS.
To use Amazon Logistics US (AMZL) as a carrier through the iDrive TMS, the carrier must be fully configured across three systems:
-
ShipCaddie Management Center (SMC)
-
iDriveTMS Admin Portal
-
Extensiv WMS
This process ensures the Amazon account is live, service levels are assigned, and orders can be successfully imported or rate shopped through iDrive.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Onboarding Team: Add Amazon Account in SMC
The onboarding team must first configure the Amazon Logistics account inside ShipCaddie Management Center (SMC).
-
This step activates the carrier and associates it with the correct tenant.
-
No Amazon labels or rates will be available in the TMS until this is completed.
2. Engineering: Run Carrier Contract Sync
After the Amazon account is added in SMC, the engineering team must trigger a carrier contract sync.
-
This sync makes the Amazon carrier account visible and usable in the iDrive TMS Admin Portal.
-
Without this sync, the carrier will not appear as an option for assignment.
3. Assign Amazon Service Levels and Ship-From Locations in the TMS
Once the carrier appears in the admin portal:
-
Assign all Amazon Ground as the service level.
-
Assign the 3PL ship-from locations where Amazon labels will be generated.
-
Save and confirm the configuration.
4. Configure Amazon Logistics in Extensiv WMS
For Extensiv orders to flow correctly into the TMS with Amazon as the carrier, Amazon Logistics US must be set up exactly as follows:

This step ensures Extensiv maps the order to the correct carrier inside the TMS.
5. How Orders Should Be Sent from Extensiv to the TMS
A. For orders specifically intended for Amazon
-
The user must select “Amazon Logistics US” as the carrier and "Ground" as the service level in Extensiv.
-
When the order imports into the TMS, Amazon rates and labels will be available.
If the user selects any other version of Amazon from Extensiv, the TMS will not recognize the shipment as Amazon.
B. For rate shopping
If the user wants the TMS to choose the best carrier (including Amazon):
-
Leave the carrier field blank in Extensiv.
-
The order will import into the TMS and run through rate shopping, which will evaluate Amazon along with any other enabled carriers.
